David Beckham Pompadour Haircut

Today, I whizzed off to the barbers to get my hair cut because it had grown very long, but this time I decided to go for something more different then the usual.

 I decided to jump onto the bandwagon, with the popular ‘Pompadour’ hairstyle trend. Celebrities like Robin Thicke and David Beckham have pompadour hair just like I do, although Thicke's hair is slightly longer than mine. 

 I showed my barber a few images of this hairstyle and told him to cut my hair similar. He mentioned that I have a very ‘hard-to-work-with crown’ and I have to admit that I hate my crown. Whenever I style my hair, at the back, it just sticks out and that annoys me. Anyway the barber went on and said that he could stop the crown being so hard-to-work-with if he either shaved it all off, or if I just let it grow longer. I also need to grow the front of my hair quite long too in order to get a better pompadour hairstyle. He recommended I use clay rather than gum, wax or gel, so if any of you have hair similar to mine, just use clay. Toni&Guy Styling Clay For Men

Firstly, I would just like to say that I'm sorry that I haven't posted much recently, I've just been very busy with my YouTube channel for the past two months, but today I thought maybe I should post something to my blog and because my reviews are quite popular, I'm going to review a product.

 For the past two months I've been using the Toni&Guy Styling Clay For Men.

I really love the aluminium packaging with the matt finish because it gives it a vintage yet modern look and feel. The classic ‘turn-to-open’ mechanism is used  in this product, sadly no fun opening mechanisms are used (I really like fun opening mechanisms). The styling clay itself has a creamy coloured clay look to it and the texture feels just like clay hence the name 

When you apply this styling clay, it doesn't feel wet which is a good thing because I hate that wet feeling when applying hair putty.

 It also looks dry, like you haven't even put any products in your hair; I hate it when you apply hair products and it looks like you've just been swimming, the wet look is horrible.

 Another good thing about this product is that it dries quite quickly, so it's ideal for when your out and about and you feel as though your hair needs a little lift.

 The downside of this products is that after it has dried you cannot re-style it (which is bad if you're someone like me) and it is quite high in price for teenagers like me as it came to the price of £6.15 in Boots. You could quite easily purchase a re-workable hair putty for £2 less but if you want ‘salon quality’ I think that you should choose the Toni&Guy Styling Clay For Men which I highly recommend to the older generation. 

Lynx Messy Look Re-workable Paste

As a huge fan of the Lynx deodorants, I decided to try out some other Lynx products. Very recently, Lynx launched their mens haircare range which is actually surprisingly great for the price.

  Throughout the next few weeks, I'll be reviewing their Shampoos and Hair Clay/Paste/Putty (Or whatever you like to call it) But I've decided to start off by reviewing the Lynx Messy Look Re-workable paste.

I'm not usually a fan of products like this, but when I was around 4, I had Hair Gel in my hair all the time, but as I've grown up, I haven't really used Hair Gel or Hair Putty, mainly because I've never liked having it in my hair. Since only a few months ago, I started using it again because I've realised that theres not much you can do with your hair without the stuff. 

  After trying quite a few brands, Lynx stood out to me. The first thing I'm liking about the Lynx Messy Look Re-workable Paste is the aroma, because I hate a nasty smelling hair putty/gel. Secondly, the hold is fantastic! When you apply it, it doesn't feel wet, it's quite smooth and it dries quite quickly, but even after it's dry, you can still play around with your hair if your not happy. The thing I like about this, is that it looks dry, and doesn't look shiny, sticky and wet like most hair gel/putty. 

It doesn't feel runny, it's quite a thick consistency, but like all of the rest, it's quite sticky (I mean, I don't think there's a hair putty out there that isn't sticky) 

  This was actually quite cheap, I bought this in Boots and it was on a 3 for 2 offer, but I believe the offer has ended. Anyway, it was still quite cheap, it was £4.69 exactly. All the other hair gel/putty, was at the same price and each one is for different types of hair - you just need to find the one for you. Overall, I think that the Lynx Messy Look Re-workable Paste, is a cheap putty with a good hold, a good aroma, and a good consistency and I really like it.
